Strongman Competition - Winthrop

So I tagged along with the Storeys, Giana & Elliot, to go see Elliot compete in a strongman competition.  In case you aren't familiar with these events, let me try to give you a brief overview.  It's basically abnormally strongmen trying to lift these ridiculously heavy objects.  For example, pulling three Toyota Tundras at one time, or tossing kegs filled with sand or water over their heads.  I'm sure you may have passed by, or even watched these events on ESPN.  Well Elliot has competed in these local ones since his college days (or his "glory days" as he says.

So we packed up the kiddos, and bombed down the road to Winthrop, Maine.  For those of you who are unaware, I'm considered the Nanny when I'm tagging along with the Storey's, quite comical.  That's a whole other story (no punn intended) to tell in another blog, maybe.

Here are some photos of Elliot and our friend PJ in action.  This was PJ's first competition, and he did great!  Next time he's sure to place first in his division.  Strength is needed, but technique is key!...or so Elliot says.  I'm just the cute bystander who likes to watch big burley men move Atlas Stones!  Cheers.

PJ looking good!

Elliot working hard...I believe he won this event...

Stacia & Rob's Wedding

So my friend Brie asked me to be her "hot" date to a local wedding because her boyfriend Dan did not care to go.  You see Brie & Dan live in East Orland---- Bucksport area for all of you Gazzettier (sp) challenged, so it was a little bit of a haul for them. Well it happened to be that Brie went to college with the bride, but I was the person that knew just about everyone! Or so she says!    So instead of being the photographer, I was a guest.  Beautiful wedding!  Bride was stunning, the colors were perfect, and the "hearty" appetizers were delectible!  Posted some favorite shots from the festivities.  Thanks to Brie for inviting me, and thank you to the Vance/Godin family for making me feel welcomed!  Oh and PS...  having a candy bar instead of a cake, was the way to go!  Cheers!

Beautiful Hydrangeas...loved the simplistic center pieces.

Stacia and Rob!  Congrats

Nick Penna

So I had the pleasure of taking Nick Penna (Windham High School Class of 2011) senior portraits this year.  I am a friend of his mother, so I was at their family camp for a day of relaxing by the lake and thought we would kill two birds with one stone, so we shot Nick's portraits.  Well, we shot the first half of Nick's portraits, going to do some more at his family home.  Their family has a beautiful camp (cottage for all you non Mainers) on Little Sebago.  We shot some pictures on the dock, with the trees and lake in the background. Also did some shots up against the camp.  I'm sure most everyone will love the lake photos, I think I'm a fan of the camp background.

Thank you Nick for being such a great subject.  You were easy to work with and took direction well.  I hope you and your family love the photos!  Oh and many thanks to his sister Kate for being my beautiful assistant!
